After a long day of backcountry skiing at Bolton Valley, we were wondering if there was a place nearby to find decent food and drink. Just up the road on Rt 2 in Richmond we stumbled upon Toscano's. Even though we were a bit early for the dinner menu as not all the staff had arrived yet, we were graciously offered a seat and drinks with a clear explanation of how long it would take before the kitchen was ready. A top shelf Glenfiddich and a really nice Pinot Noir carried us through the wait and soon enough we had a pleasant waitress offering up the specials of the day. We settled on the Sea Bass and the Duck but it was the roasted brussel sprouts with a VT maple syrup glaze that impressed us the most. Not my typical favorite vegetable choice but done so well as to make me a fan. Good food, good drink, friendly and courteous wait staff - what more could you want? Prices were a tad high for us but the overall meal and ambiance was worth it and just what we were looking for.
