Exceptional

Great wine and great food! Definitely a list topper. A good go to for anyone looking for an exceptionally rich and tasty Italian meal. Ambiance is intimate. Hospitality with a capital H.

Last supper
Seriously when I walked out of this restaurant if someone had said that was my last meal I would have been satisfied. From the Martini to the cup of coffee at the end, amazing. How have I lived without Squash Blossom Fritters this long!!! I will return.

Excellent Review!
We had dinner on 4/17/08. We decided to dine outside of our area (Stowe mostly) to try some Italian food. My husband and I are the type that do the entire meal, appetizer, dinner and dessert. The service was phenomenal! It did not hurt that we had our reservations for 5:45pm and I highly suggest this time as it is not too busy. By 6:45 - 7:00 it was getting crowded and louder. The ambiance is lovely there also. For an appetizer, I had the Mixed Green Salad w/ red wine vinaigrette and my husband had the Calamari. The salad was wonderful and reasonably priced. My husband enjoyed the calamari. We also had the flatbread, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this as an appetizer or to go with your salad, it was fabulous. The bread that comes with your meal was okay. For dinner, I had the Roasted Chicken w/ mashed potatoes and asparagus along with a side of Greens. This chicken (which by the way is Organic as per the waitress) was the best chicken I have had. It is in a rosemary au jus and I would highly recommend this dish. The skin of the chicken was perfectly cooked and crisp and the meal was very hot! I actually had to let it cool down. On the down side, I did take 1/2 of the chicken home for my mother-in-law and the skin was not as crisp as it was when it was served. My husband had the Quail, and he enjoyed it. It came with scalloped potatoes and broccolini. He ate every bit of his dinner and enjoyed it! For dessert I had the Apple frittata, which comes with their own homemade vanilla ice cream and the ice cream was fabulous as was the dessert. My husband had the Creme Brulee and loved it. He is a Creme Brulee connoisseur and thought it was fantastic! All and all it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely make it back there soon!

Not-so romantic, but satisfying upscale Italian For a special night out last week, my husband and I dined at L’Amante. We were not sure what to expect, but had viewed the menu online, so we were prepared for other-than-traditional dining. We were not disappointed in the food. All aspects of the menu, from appetizers to desserts, were well prepared, presented and fully flavored, matching meals we have had in upscale Italian restaurants in larger cities. The wait staff was attentive and skilled, pacing all aspects the meal well; however, the atmosphere was too noisy for the intimate dining experience we expected. At times we were almost shouting to hear each other. cinmorgan
