Splash presents a moderately-priced dinner outside on a floating dock in downtown Burlington harbor. There are a limited number of tables so the wait can be significant, although I have found the actual wait has always been about half of that predicted. The food is generally tasty American fare with an emphasis on seafood, arrives promptly, and is well-prepared. The experience is most notable for the experience of dining literally on the water in a picturesque lakeside marine setting, watching the sun set over the Adirondack mountains as sailboats glide close by.

If the wait appears too long, you can order most of the same dishes on the dinner menu at the take-out snack bar, then eat at the picnic tables adjacent to the restaurant tables or even upstairs under cover when available. There is a full service bar also on the floating dock with several local microbrews on tap, also serving as a dining alternative to waiting for a table. When I bring visitors to Burlington, I always try to have a meal at Splash, and they are universally moved by the natural beauty of the setting.
