Something happened to me on the way to Springfield Vermont. In my 93 Toyota I had my 95 CD changer with same set of Mix CDs I've had since last Winter, but this time I was looking for a particular song in the mix. It happened to be disc 8, track 02. 802! The Simpsons Theme. I'm not kidding.
Had I found fate or vice versa? Was this just a random group of typing monkeys working on Shakespeare? Either way it gave me a chill that not even my AC could provide.
After I stopped in Williston to pick up some digital media, I called my buddy Jeremi (a Springfield Native), knowing he was on his way down to Springfield from Burlington. He told me that he might be able to score a ticket for me to one of the showings from his Parents or Sister. This was something I was not prepared for. I was expecting to drive 2 hours to be a digital spectator to a Hollywood comes to Springfield freak show. I got that and more.
The Freak and the Show were both a bit muted compared to my expectations, though neither were disappointing. Bongo the Goat, in my humble opinon, was the local with mostal. For the Hollywood roster, I'm glad Matt Groening, Richard Sakai, David Silverman and the some of other guys showed up, but I'm bummed Hank Azaria, and most of all, Harry Shearer didn't show up. With Harry Shearer, there is always the possibility of a Spontaneously Combustible Spinal Tap Reunion.
